Questions:

Here is how you sort activities in the Activity Grade Book:
Go the Activity Grade Book for a section/class.

On the left side of the screen is an icon that looks like this: filter icon Click it.
A window appears that looks like the image below:

Notice you can
Sort by: and select Date Assigned (old > new) or (new > old) or Date Due (old > new) or (new > old)
Notice too that you export your Activity Grade Book to an Excel spreadsheet. (kinda cool)
If you uncheck Turn Scrollbars On you will see your entire class list on the page.
Click this icon filter iconwhen you a finished so that you will return to your Activity Grade Book.

Why do some of the activities have number in the upper right corner and others don't?

The numbers in the corner refer to the number of students who have been assigned this activity and have not yet achieved the Maximum Achievable Score (MAS).  Since you have graded those two activities and gave everyone a "3", there is no one left who hasn't achieved the MAS.

What is the quickest/easiest way to add an activity/assignment/task?
Feel free to use the Quick Task link when you are in the activity grade book.  Once clicked, you simply have to give it a title and select the learning goal that this task is aligned with from the target browser.

When will students be able to access their Empower?
Students have access to Empower now and can log in the same way teachers do.  If they go to the MAMS website, click the Students dropdown menu  then click Empower they will get to the same login screen you see.  If they are logged into their school Google Account, they can click the red "Sign in with Google" button.

Can there be written instructions for them?
When students log in, if they click the stack of pancakes at the top left, they will get to the Helps screen.  There is a video in there showing how students complete an activity that is really well done.  Most instructions for students will come from teachers when they include instructions in their Action Plan.  If there is something else you want students to access in Empower that there is nothing available showing them how to do it, let me know.

Why are we using Empower?
Empower is a grading program that allows the school to report student progress on learning goals. It gives more detailed information than traditional report cards with letter grades. It clearly allows everyone (students, parents, and teachers) to see where students have been in their learning, and where they are going next.

How can I tell if Empower is displaying my new scores and not just those from a previous grading period?
If you look at the Goal Browser of a student, you will see scores appear on the tiles you scored.

If you click on the tile, it will show you a progress chart. Notice the dates on the bottom where it shows when it was scored.
